Ok so my computer is all put together and I turned it on for the first time but I cant get it to load pass the startup screen, each time it gets there and thinks for a few minutes it restarts itself. Im thinking I dont have something configured right on the motherboard. I have the ASUS M2N-Plus SLI Vista Ready motherboard
It comes up and says ASUS motherboard and all that good stuff and if I press tab it displays the post boot screen which says it reads my 2gigs of ram, my processor, and my graphics card. Do I have a jumper plugged in wrong or any ideas? Also, My Cd drives wont open at all although they are plugged into the power supply. |

Have you set things right in BIOS? I'm guessing you're using SATA. Check BIOS settings, especially that your drives are set up properly, as well as your boot order. You normally press 'DEL' during boot to get into it.

reach check all your connections and start with the obvious. Can you enter BIOS setup? Do you have an OS installed? On which drive? What is the boot order? Is your mobo capable of booting from a SATA drive (some still aren't)? Can you boot from a bootable disk like memtest86, a Linux live CD, or your Windows install CD?
