Default Usb 2.0 Help

So Im semi good with computers
and i need help with my usbs
They just stopped working
My Zune will charge
but it wont sync music to it
and my 500gb External is not reading
so basically nothing shows up
i think the driver may be outta date
but i cant find a spot to update them
i have windows xp pro
and a dfi infinity p965 dark mother board

help would greatly be appreciated

lol i have no idea but ill try to help. have you gone into device manager and tried to update the driver from there?

oh and do you have Service Pack 2?

Chipset drivers often tie in with the usb you might want to try that

go to control panel-->system-->hardware-->device manager and find Universal Serial Bus Controlers at the bottom. expand that and double click on one of them. then go to Driver-->update driver-->next

see if it can find a newer driver.

do you have xp pro sp2?

i think i have xp pro s2 not sure though
and i dont even have universal serial bus controllers under device management
this is wierd bc my usbs were working fine jsut a little while ago

something strange has happened. the only thing i can think of is that your motherboard drivers have stuffed up. when i got my computer it came with a cd.

do you have the cds that came with your computer? if so can you find the one that is for your motherboard?

my friend help me build it but hes off in college right now so yeah
but i have the motherboard disk but idk if it will do anyhting

well run the disk and see if you can install/reinstall the usb drivers.
