I am receiving a older computer with an Azza KT3ABX Motherboard that has an Athlon 1ghz processor and I was am trying to find out if I can upgrade it to an Athlon XP 1800+. What I would like to know is if any knows or could point me to somewhere where I can find out if this motherboard is compatible with Athlon XP processors. The manual only states that it is compatible with Athlon and Duron, however I have another comp running a Athlon XP 1400+ that says the exact same thing in the manual. It has socket a and is compatible with 266mhz FBS.
On another note, if I dropped the Athlon XP that I do have in to my KT3ABX to check compatibility, is there a chance that, if it is not compatible, I could ruin any of my components? |
