I've been trying to hook up my computer's audio output to my home stereo and have also tried with a portable stereo. I can use the same cables with my iPod and get perfect sound but with the computer's Line Out or headphone jack I get a low hum and a higher buzzing noise out of the stereo. When I use amplified computer speakers (small R&L with subwoofer,) the sound is great. I've also tried connecting to the headphone jack on my computer speakers and I get the same problem. Can anyone explain this and how I can fix it?
