Default error message in xp re: adobe

greetings,

i acquired a computer from a local business that was switching over to mac. it is a dell +/- 3.06ghz, 1g ram, 120hd, win xp pro, adobe acrobat writer installed (if that makes any difference).

when the computer boots up i get a message of "ACROBAT ASSISTANT.INK.DISABLED" and another about a gamma loader for same. i have removed adobe acrobat and reinstalled same. there is also nothing wrong with my video display which, by the word "gamma" i associate with "video".

i have searched on the net for info for the ".ink" extension and come up with nothing. any help anyone can give will be helpfull...thanks again!

....well, i think that did it!..thanks!.although i don't know why it would have t be turned of in msconfig. ....in any of my other computers, all is "on"...thanks again .

(i have another problem about the log on screen); after it boots up, i get a screen that says press ctrl-alt-del to continue....from there it goes to the password request box and i hit ok w/o applying a password and all is well.

i have looked in "users" in control panel and i see no way of deleting the box so that it just simply starts windows......theer is a user as an operator and admin as an operator......any advice?
