I have vista ultimate on my pc and i have a 4gb memory but in vista it only shows i have 2811 instead of about 4000. I have a Xfx motherboard with a Gskill 240 pin 4gb memory. Intel pentium quad 2.4ghz and a 256mb video card. Any suggestions or help would be great thanks.

If you are running the 32 bit version then it will only show you having about 3.25gb of memory. This has to do with the 32 bit OS and not Vista . In order for you to be able to see and use 4gb of memory you must run the 64 bit version OS.

I am just going to throw out some questions that may or may not help (hopefully they will help). Is your Operating System 32-bit Vista or 64-bit Vista? Is your video card a turbocache video card? Turbocache video cards have no actual onboard memory but instead use your system memory.
