well I have a problem... I hope someone can help me...
I'm using clockgen, and when I try to specify the clock generator of my motheroboard it's not on the list, so I choose the closest one (in my opinion) but when I change the fsb the computer hangs... what can i do if the clock generator is not on the list of clockgen?? can you recomend another program?? the clock generator of the motherboard is RTM 862-520, and i choose RTM 862-410 on clockgen V1.0.5.3, thanks!! |

Don't use software in Windows to OC. Honestly!
The best and safest method of OC'ing is to do it through the BIOS, providing you have a decent board, you'll have no problems... What are your specs?

thanks Kornowski and computerguru...
I want to overclock this: prescott 3ghz Wich is installed on this: ![]() as you can see it's a cheap generic mainboard... It was shipped with the utility warpspeeder, I tried it but it doesn't work... does nothing.. what setting should I change on the bios?? I tried modifying the option ""cpu host clock"" from 200mhz to 210mhz but nothing changed... the system started normally and cpu-z says it's running at 3000 Mhz and the bus speed is 200mhz.. Am i doing something wrong?? meanwhile I'll try some of those utilities thanks again!!

VIA's aren't gonna get ya far.. but..
Did you SAVE? Try looking at the clock speed at Windows.

Slowly go up, don't even think about overclocking 100mhz at once. Make sure you check for stability. If you wan't to go real high, you'll need to adjust power settings and DRAM timings and speed. I highly suggest you do research on overclocking, then see what you can do.
