Default COD 4 a worthy replacement for BF2/2142?

I played the demo for Call of Duty 4 and I have to say I am impressed, my only disappointment with the game is lack of 64 multiplayer demo. Do you think its a worthy replacement for Battlefield 2 and 2142? How long do you think it will be until EA/Dice makes a successor to BF2 and 2142? It seems they come out with a new addition every year and a half. Here is some rumor's I heard about it Battlefield 3.

well it depends on what type of game you like. the call of duty series is all about cinematic action. BF2 is completely different. i personally can't stand BF2 because most of the people i played with were semi retarded. i can guarantee you COD4 will be a huge hit once it is released (which is coming soon i think) so yea id say its definitely a worthy replacement

I thought it was like Battlefield: Bad Company or something? I have BF2 & BF2142... I am probably gonna get COD4 and Crysis, I think Crysis multi player will be a good replacement... B/c of the ease to design your own map in the Sandbox2 Editor, I am already getting a server ready for Crysis. I can't wait!!

I liked BF2 for the game, but the people sucked. I mean between the constant artillery and nade spamming it can drive you nuts. Sometimes I got so upset I had to stop playing. BF 2142 in these aspects I feel was better, less of each. Of all the combat games I played BF2 was the most realistic I played. The last COD game I played was United Offensive before I went to BF2, I enjoyed it.

That game Bad Company I think was for the consoles, not the PC. Got to look in on that. I think I will get COD 4 since I had good past experiences with the COD series and after 2 1/2 years of nade spamming and artillery BF2 is getting old. Crysis I might consider but I need to do more research on it, plus will it run on my computer? Did they release a demo for Crysis?

Yea the COD 4 Demo was great. I just played the Crysis Demo and that game is great, I will have to buy it. I did notice when I played the game on the max settings possible (High) I can really hear the cooling fan. Wonder if the video card is overheating?
