Default Calling Sound Guru

I have an Intel Bad Axe mobo and I use the onboard audio. I was using an RCA converter to put sound to my home theater receiver for sound. Then today, I tried using the optical output (previously I could never get it to work) and now it does, and I think it sounds better. Is this just wishful thinking or technically should it sound better?

Yes the optical will sound better, You don't have the resistance in the lines that those RCA cables cause, and it is a pure digital signal to your system.

Optical should sound better. Do you have digital coaxial? That should sound very nice too, and it's cheaper.

Im pretty sure yo get a better quality of sound through optical sound. Lol I don't have optical sound, but Im upgrading my sound card and speakers soon, so I'll make sure i pick up some good stuff.

Hmm from what I read, Coaxial and opitcal sounds about the same unless you're using really long cables, where opitcals will sound better.
