Default Memory Timings

When I first set up my memory I had to set the timings to 5-5-5-12 with a 2T command rate. In using CPUZ it shows these settings plus these 4-4-4-12 with a 2T command rate . My question is if I run the 4-4-4-12 settings will it improve or hurt my system?
