help getting command prompt asap

Hi, i have had a ton of problems with vista and now all of the sudden i need to enter in a new product key and the one on the back of the computer doesn't work. gateway insists i have to buy a new product key now. anyway i'm on the limited access screen and i have the internet explorer up and i need to access the command prompt. i tried file//:C:windows/system32/cmd and things like that. does anyone know what i can type to access the command prompt?

Go to, start/run and type in cmd. Hit enter.

You should be able to find it in both or either one of these:
1) Star/Programs/Accessories
or
2) Star/settings/control panel
