My laptop has both a 128 mb video card as well as integrated graphics. According to dxdiag, they work together to give me a total of 618 mb. However, when I play games, they only perform up to a 128 mb level. I know that integrated graphics are crap, but it seems that 618 mb should at least do something to boost my performance.
I guess my question would be: is there a way to get a game to use all 618 mb, and if not, is there a way to get it to use one or the other? Thank you in advance for your advice and education. |

Video memory is not an indication of performance. You can't say you're at a "128MB level" as I've seen 64MB cards out perform 512MB cards.
There are quite a few factors that go into video performance, but primarily the GPU chipset itself is the key performance indicator. http://www.gpureview.com/ < A great place to compare different GPUs.
