Default Php5 Help!

i just bought a php and mySQL book ,
it has written to work with this book you must installe PHP5 , that's it !
nothing more !
there's a php5 in book cd, and some others like apache, mysql ...
i searched the niternet on how to install php5 , i found some , but nothing chaned,
i havn't installed apache , when i'm running its setup it asked me for my domain , which i havn't any yet, so i cant' install that , i'm so confused , someone help me !!
i want to learn php and mysql , i'm so noob at this, i just wan to try some web with php on my own hard disk , nothing more !
i've tried that
i've just finished a html book,
in form action in put one php file, but when like on for example submit, it shows me the php codes, nothing more !!
please help !
(i did the guides in http://www.peterguy.com/php/install_IIS6.html , but nothing changed, and i'm afraid i've changed some configuration in registry that i don't know how to remove that.. and one time i downloaded php windows installer from php.net , and that didn't worked too , and i uninstalled , nothing more i did.)

As long as it's not going on a real server you can just put in whatever you like for domain, server name and administrators email. After you install apache run the php5 installer and it should add the necessary lines to the apache config file for php to work with it.

i installed apache with a fake domain name and ...
then run php5 installer ,gave me this error (and still not working)

Use your own ip address and a domain for now. You need to buy a domain name later.

there are 3 fields, domain, domain name and admin e-mail ,
i put my ip on which domains ? and what about the other fields?

just put localhost in them. but the picts say you did not enter the location of the config correctaly. try again

Did you point the installer to the file when it asks for it? I think it defaults to C:\Program Files\Apache Software Fondation\Apache\conf
