Default Estimate the cost of rig.

I'm making way for a new build and looking to find ways to find funds; one way is to get rid of the old rig and make room for the new. Estimate the cost I could offer a coworker. Specs are:

mobo
asus p4r800-v deluxe

cpu
intel prentium 4 3.4ghz Extreme edition

psu
possibly 400W

vidcard
ati radeon x800pro

soundcard
creative sb audigy 2 zs

mem
1gb (2x512) ddr-sdram kingston (model number N/A)

case
coolermaster wave master

hdd
150gb maxtor 6y160p0 ata

cddrives
LG hl-dt-st cd-rw gce-8525b (no dvd)

Some of the parts I was unable to find anywhere on the net. Everything is outdated.

I'd say a fair price is around 200$. If you want to rip him off, go for 500.

I came with up with $200 as well, and I think I will charge him just that. I can't very well overcharge a co-worker, because if the computer does ever go awry, I would have to deal with both the computer and him.

You have to consider that over 5 years of use, the quality of the internal parts are no longer in mint condition.

Not a surprise, unless it's hitting 60c on the cpu and has a heavy cape of dust otherwise is fine, i've seen ppl buying computers from 5 years pre-build for 200$, 350$ is a decent price considering what your system has

I do my fair share of maintenance on the computer; a little dusting here and there, and system tune ups. This however, will not prevent a failed hard drive or for that matter any other component to crap out after one more year of use.

Nothing personal, but you're a strange person, most people would just sell the machine and don't give "warranty" of any kind unless it was recent (less than 9 months of building it)

It's the guilt of having to look at him 8am-5pm, 5 days a week knowing that I robbed him $300. Couldn't handle it.
