It's being sponsored by the different coftware companies like Symantec, Lavasoft, and others with retail products. Run a good search and you'll run into a few other similar sites doing the same thing. One good article titled "Antivirus Software" has some guidelines on protecting yourself from the start. http://antivirus.about.com/od/securi...nvasions_2.htm

Is this an actual program? Or is it just a website. Usualy webites dont work well. If you want a good free virus program, AVG is the best I have found.

The site at the top of the rhread is simply providing a page full of links for different programs as well as types of programs namely antivirus, spyware and adware removers, etc.. The page seen in the last link is one from a larger arcticle with links as well as a few tips on prevention.
