Writer a letter or Draw picture for a good cause!

Mods - Please do not delete this I AM NOT ASKING FOR MONEY. PLEASE DO NOT SEND MONEY. I AM JUST TRYING TO HELP THE FAMILY OF A YOUNG CHILD WHO RECENTLY PASSED AWAY COPE WITH THEIR LOSS!

Recently a young seven year old girl from Brooklyn passed away due to the most evil word in our dictionary, better known as cancer. A 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization has been found in her memory which is located on the web at http://www.stellasrainbowfoundation.org/. I have been working day and night to help spearhead the organization's effort to raise awareness for bone marrow test, cancer research and family counseling for those whose children have been tragically lost due to, or are suffering from, cancer.
The beautiful young angel's burial site is decorated with vast children's toys, games, candy and arts&crafts apparatus. I have recently had a wonderful idea to help raise awareness for the organization, as well as help the distressed family cope with their loss - Letters To Stella. Letters To Stella is a way to help raise awareness in society for our encumbrance to end child suffering.
I ask you kindly to consider the following gesture. Letters To Stella includes having young children write letters, as well as draw pictures to decorate Stella's burial site with. Upon asking children to volunteer to draw a photo, write a letter or postcard to Stella, The letters are organized and handed to the grieving young mother which places them on her grave; which she visits every morning before she starts her day. This helps the organization in many ways, young student's learn that they can contribute to a good cause on their own without the help of adults. Upon asking children to participate, I have found many will show, or ask their parents for assistance with the project, which helps raise awareness for the organization.
Stella's Rainbow Foundation has saved five lives of young children by organizing bone marrow testing for perspective donors, and we hope to save many more with the help of young philanthropists such as yourself. Nov 29, 2007, will mark a milestone for the organization when Stella's Rainbow Foundation hosts their first annual benefit concert at The Nokia Theater in New York, NY starring Ashanti and Sean Kingston.
I ask you to please take into consideration asking children to participate in Letters To Stella, as it is for a great cause, and causes the children who participate to feel as if they make a change individually, which is a great contributing factor to the success of your students. I do understand if the decision is not in your hands, or if you feel it is unnecessary to subject the children to events of this nature. Either way kindly respond at your earlier convenience. Letters can be mailed or emailed to me. I place them on the grave, and the mother finds them the next day!

If you decide to participate, you can send letters via mail, or email me. I have sent dozens of letters, faxes and emails to schools, ymca's and other organizations asking for people to simply draw a photo, or write a short letter, but they all brush it off and tell them they are too busy. This same thing was deleted from graigslist. I have no idea if it's true. And it had the exact phrasing as this post.

I posted this on craigslist in the new york section, how could it not be true? all you are doing is drawing a picture or writing a letter and sending it to a very reputable organization. are you the one who told craigslist to delete it? if so thanks for nothing.

I've checked out the site pretty throughly and I have to say I'm a bit skeptical of it. It's very elaborate but it seems that the foundation isn't referenced anywhere else that I could find. Why doesn't the Nokia Theatre list the concert that is on it's front page?

how are major publications for you?
Nokia theater's site lists public concerts and events, this is a private fund raiser. i will find more links and post them.

How is this an elaborate scheme? writing a letter or drawing a photo? what does anyone gain from that? not everyone on the internet is trying to scam you, some things are legitimate

In fact nokia doesn't list it at all, even if you look into the detail listing of all there shows all the way up to December's there is nothing to do with stellasrainbowfoundation and nothing on nov 29.

I always have sympathy for any good cause, but there are millions of good causes. I myself have helped many charities in my time, Ive done volunteer work and do work for under privileged kids. But I dont see that this forum is a place to discuss or promote that.
I also feel that even though your intension's are simple they are not honest, I feel that you are probably hoping that after someone sends you a picture/letter you can start asking them for money (remember Ive done charity work before

). Unless you were hoping to make money for the foundation then i cant see why you would spend the time posting this. There are better ways for you to help the foundation by actually doing some real fund raising. So I'm going to close this thread.

you can phone the nokia theater and ask, google the name "stella liniado" and you will see the foundation is listed in many places. I am not asking for money, as a matter of fact you can even post the letter on this thread, and I will print it.
