My servers battery lived for a good 10 years. Granted, it could have died and and my cmos was setting itself to default every time it started up and I didnt notice .

I have never had a system longer than 5 years, so I would have to say 5 years. I have never had to replace a battery.

My old Pentium 75 system seemed to be fine last I used it, it's got to be around 15 years old. I don't get any checksum errors or anything so I assume it's still good, I haven't powered it on for a couple years now though
