not sure about a programe to format it that way. it would be easier to put the hdd in another comp and format it in windows. it should then be ready for a new os.

would i be able to completely wipe out my hd if it were plugged into someone elses computer just using there vista disk...I'm not quite sure how to do this can you help me out? Thanks.

Format your disk w/ the Vista upgrade DVD. When asked to provide a Product Key, choose the option to provide the product key later. After you successfully install Vista, provide the product key and activate Windows.

ive only installed vista once months ago and can't remember how the setup goes, but if ur gonna plug it into someone elses comp u could format it in windows, easier.

when i put my vista disk into my computer nothing happens at all, even when i set the boot priority to cdrom

maybe because its an upgrade cd and not the whole thing. im not sure on that one.

i would say get ur drive in another comp, get into windows and format it from there. then stick it bck in ur comp and try installin MCE again. if that don't work then i don't know, maybe a fault with the mobo?

OK, I will try formating in another computer and I don't think its the mobo because it worked fine until I started messing around with my video drivers
