Perhaps you could list 20 typical questions here to allow for the various answers you will see posted. You'll probably end up with more questions in some cases.

You have 2 1's, and these are rather personal questions...

After all, we're not you.

Questions 6, 7, 11, 12, and 13 are the only ones that are general enough to make up a mock interviewee here.

#6: The computer has been growing and continues to grow with the "point and click" generation that followed the baby boomers for sure.

#7: With the number of things being done online these days question #6 also ties in with this one easily enough with people conducting business and banking online, more pcs in use in the average home, etc..

#11: One 30yr. man pointed that he could always go back to the book in regards to electronics in theory while refresher courses would be a possible upgrade for job skills. Keeping up is a constant process with the fast turnovers in the various forms of hard wares and devices.

#12 certainly ties well with #13 since many simply start off as interns or working part time while in school to get some "hands on" type of experience. Know anyone with friends that need help putting a case together?, and blah... blah... side jobs lead to starting small business if financing available... blah...blah...blah... there easy enough.

I started while I was in college

Not to be a grammar nazi, but you need to have better grammar in a job interview, and yes I would say it is a rather large job market. In fact I remember reading recently that the IT workers were in shortage from IBM. Saying that companies are mostly short handed when it comes to the IT field. Almost every company is always looking for something. Even some stuff we can't handle we contract out to get extra help.

10 what do they except from you in these tech jobs collage wise what are some requrments what degrees do you need
In all honesty, in the IT field it is more about experience than college degree. At my last job there was only one IT worker with an actual technology degree, everyone else had educations somewhere else. At my current job, I don't think anyone has a technology degree.

Quote:
11 do you have to learn new stuff every year since computer's change every year
Apple makes you re-certify online every year to keep current. Every two years for the system administrator ones. So, you are in a way forced to keep current. The upgrade tests are usually open book and online for the hardware and OS. The admin ones are upgrade but you have to take them at a testing center. They are meant to just update you on the technology changes. MS never makes you upgrade but offers upgrades to all your certs to the newest ones.

However, I learn new stuff almost every day. When I want to accomplish something with a script (be it shell, python, ruby, perl, etc) I google what I want to accomplish look at other scripts already written, and take that code and rewrite it into something that could fit my goal with my technology. I also write some of my own scripts but really you learn more from looking at others. That way you see how other people do things.

Quote:
12 do you ever do any side job's with your computer knowlage like fix or build or anything like that
I used to, not anymore. Finally got a decent paying job and overtime if I want it so I don't bother with side work, sub contracting, or independent contracting any more. It honestly was a hassle at times. I would only charge a minimum $50/hour which is extremely cheap and people would still complain about how pricey it was and always tried to haggle me down. I got fed up with it and told them they could call the geek squad or firedog for $150.00/hour. My rates change too depending on the job. Data recovery is $100/hour and I had one guy who got all fussy with me and I told him I wouldn't do it for a penny less. After he called some actual data recovery specialists and got real quotes of what it would cost he called me back. I just don't want to deal with that crap anymore, so I don't.

Quote:
13 can you open up your own busines with your major
You don't need any kind of degree to start your own business. You just need a business plan and a bank loan, and some sort of liability insurance.

Quote:
14 what do you enjoy most about your job
The personal freedoms I get to be creative and the challenge of tasks to accomplish. We locked down a lot of things by policy on our clients, and written log in hooks to enforce policy on the machines. The fact that I have to figure out how to update 6,000 machines and 20 servers. How to configure back ups, and implement data storage. Designing a network, or even just a server to run a single service to balance the load on the network.

Quote:
15 do you go on busines trips with your job
Yes

Quote:
16 is it hard to get a job in this feild
Depends. Hard to get my job with out my experience yes. Hard to get an entry level job? Nope, not all that hard. Just got to keep trying eventually you will get your break. I didn't get an admin job at this medical research firm I really wanted to work at, but it ended up being a good thing because I got offered my current job like a month later, which is about the same pay with lots of more benefits.
Quote:
17 do you make a good salary
I am single with no kids, so yeah I make a decent living just having to take care of myself. If I had kids I would be broke.

Quote:
18 do you get benfits like insurance
government benefits and retirement from the state.

Quote:
19 do you see yourshelf working in this feild forever
Until one of my novels makes me filthy rich~

Quote:
20 what would you be doing if you where not working with computers
No idea, I can't like see into alternate realities. I would be doing whatever I could to get by.
