Default Hooking desktop up to t.v?????

How can i hook my desktop up to my t.v?
I have seen it done before but never found out how to do it.
Is there an adapter they make?
My t.v is Hd if that matters or not.I dont know.
If anybody knows what i need please let me know.

What graphics card do you have? With older graphics card you just use the S-video out and hook it up to the TV. With newer cards you should be able to use the HDMI out.

Im not sure.I have two desktops.I will look tomm.I am new to this stuff.
What kind of cable do I need for either one?Where can i get them?

I think I found the hdmi cable.
Do you think you could help me find the other one?
I cant find it.That might be because im not exactly sure what im looking for

I think my pc has hdmi.
What is hdmi/dvi? Is that a cable that plugs in where the monitor did?The pin style plug.
