I'm having problems with this. First of all, it keeps blocking two files, svchost.exe and mtoskrnl.exe. What are those files, and why does it block them?
Also, it has told me of changes in a file called fsg_4203.exe in a temp folder in my documents and settings. What is that file, and can I remove it? |

usually it's safe to remove any files in *\temp\*
svchost.exe is the devil, I hate MS for using it as a front for running services, usually you can't tell what's running inside it and ntoskrnl.exe is the windows kernel

no it's not real bad, computers can work without internet access
You can always edit the firewall rules and allow it to access the internet

Try to dig into Sygate firewall and see why they blocked those 2 files. What was the blocking reason?
svchost.exe is the devil as said before, and I hate it too, maybe the sygate blocked it as it saw that it's a security threat ![]() On my PC, svchost.exe, the Local Service keeps eating up memory until I close it manualy. After it re-loads automatically of course, it stands still and it's memory usage becomes stable. It's weird that sygate blocked kernel, as kernel is famous to firewalls. Don't uninstall the Sygate Firewall, it's one of the best firewalls I have ever used, really great and FREE too. Thanks, |
