Unhappy How Do You Create A Wireless Network?

How do you create a wireless network connection in "Network Connections"? I used to have one but ever since I got a new hard drive. It's not there. I have a wireless card. I can't remember what it was wireless network connecion icon thingie was called. I've downloaded Belkin WLAN wireless adapter, Intel Pro and Antheros Wireless LAN. I still do not see the Wireless Network connection thingie.

I think it was either Marvell or Belkin. I have Marvell Yukon 88E8038 PCI-E Ethernet Controller. Under that I have Local Area Connection.

right click the wireless network connections under control panels > network connections. Click on properties. Input the SSID (the network name) and the passkey if any. It then should connect to that wireless network.

I don't have Wireless Connection icon in Network Connections. I'm trying to make one. I will get wireless soon when I get a router but the icon isn't there. All I have is:

Marvill Yukon 88E8038 PCI-E Ethernet Controller:

1. Local Area Connections

WAN Miniport (PPPOE):

1. High-Speed Connection

2. ----- (My Network Name)

In device manager, right click the my computer icon and go to properties, then click on the hardware tab and select the device manager button, what is listed under network adapters there?

You do not have a wireless card installed, are there any unknown devices with the yellow question mark?

Yeah, it says Ethernet Controller

When I double click it, in the box it says:

Device type: Unknown
Manufacturer: Unknown
Location: PCI bus 10, device 3, fuction 0

This device is not configured properely (Code 1)

I have screenshots from my laptop.

OK, you need to download and install the drivers for your wireless card on your machine that you want the wireless on. Is this for your Laptop in your signature?

Acer's website should have the drivers. My guess is, if you got a new HD installed they didn't reimage it with the factory image or forgot to load the wifi drivers if it was separate.
