Default Hot Amp?

Hey Again Guys,

Went and bought a New Home Theater system today,

Hooked it all up, Running perfect, but when i went and put my hand on it, it was so hot!

How hot are they usually?

It didnt seem normal for electronics. . .

Does it need more ventilation or what?

There is about 2 inches either side of it and 3 above it. . .

haha at the crt and not a nice plasma.

But yeah, it's normal for them to get hot during operation. The one I got for my pc gets quiet warm when it's being used.

How hot do you say it is? Hot to the touch or just very warm?

Some also get hotter then others.

I won't, mainly because we have one too. And I bet it's quite a bit older than yours. But it works really well and the image quality is way higher than on flat screen TV's.

Ours runs pretty warm, and one of my firends gets hot enough you can barely touch it, so I'd say it's normal.

And I won't laugh at your CRT tv I personally like them better than lcd's and Plasma.

When i had the DVD player on top of the AMP, The Sub was cutting in and out, Do you think this would of been the cause of this or what?

Haha @ the CRT I'm only laughing cause I just got my LCD yesterday

As for the question, Amps do tend to genereate quite a bit of heat when they are in use. Especially those smaller all in one enclosures, where theres not as much air flow through the system as say an older amp. So yes, I'd say it's normal.

My amp runs quite hot once it's been on for a little while. It's probably nothing abnormal, but there's no reason you couldn't work on it... Have you considered modding it and installing a fan or something
