resizing without pixelation?

Is there any way or any apps out there that you can resize small pictures larger without distorting them at all that you know of??

I have adobe CS, photoshop 7, impact and ulead something or another, fireworks mx, etc but none can do this without making the pictures completely worthless so if anybody has any ideas i'd really appreciate it

Nope, the image when scaled upwards duplicates already filled pixels into the new pixels so you get a larger set of blocks. This is because the image has a set definition and it can't be increased.

^ that said, I do think PS works better than the junkier programs like Paint. What you could do is use the blur tool or use a filter to make it look a little better.

PS does have a little smoother upscaling than most but you're still making data from nothing. The program does it's best to guess what it would look like bigger but obviously it's no substitute for a bigger starting image.
