Default No sound

Hi. Occasionally the sound just disapears from my pc. Usually when it has been left or switched off. Ive checked for loose wires etc but everything is fine. I've also been through the microsoft troubleshoot but that doesn't help. Any ideas???

Is it onboard sound or an actual card? Does sound a bit like a driver issue to me, but always a possibility of user error (more than one user on the same machine)

This may seem to be an odd question, but what operating system are you using?
