I recently did my first build. I had to rig the PSU to fit inside the case but that was the last piece of hardware I needed. I switched out the okia 400 watt for the VX 550 Watt Corsair, added 2GB of RAM, and plugged in the 8800GT OC video card since I last ran the computer. I was previously getting video with the onboard vga of the motherboard. Now I am not getting a signal through that, the dvi of the 8800GT, or the dvi to vga adapter. Did I do something wrong? Do I need to install windows and the drivers before installing the 8800?

Ok so I need to unplug the GPU and see if the video shows up then. I'll give it a try.

Well I tried running the computer without the GPU and the RAM not plugged in and I got the same message on the monitor. I realized that the 4 pin ATX connector was not plugged in from the PSU and plugged that in. It is an 8 pin with a '4 pin piece that disconnects'. I plugged this in and it still gave me the message. I can feel the air coming from the GPU vents so power is getting to it. I still am getting the message and not getting any video signal. Not sure what the problem could be now. Should I maybe clear the RTC? I assume it must be the PSU since thats the only factor still remaining I have not removed to test. I will do that now and edit post if it changes.
