Default Slow Computer

I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong spot, so let me know if it is.

My computer has been getting really slow of late. I know it's not because of spyware, viruses, or adware because I've run scans for all of them and nothing has shown up.

Is there anything else that might be slowing down my computer, and what can I do to improve its performance?

Thanks

I already defragged my hard drive, and I am running CCleaner right now.

Thank you.

Always defrag a few times. You should notice everything getting a bit cleaner with each pass. I typically make 3 passes whenever I do it.

1) Clear History, Files, and Cookies from broswer.
2) Go to Add/Remove Programs and remove all unwanted/unneeded programs.
3) Run CCleaner (also known as crap cleaner)
4) Run Spybot Search & Destroy and clean up and spyware...
5) Disk Cleanup... Check everything...
6) Defragment

see what running on your computer by using Mircosofts autoruns. This is a better msconfig startup viewer.

You can also use MS' root kit reavealer to see if anything nasty did get into your system.

Smile clean the processes which make your system slow

you can press Ctrl+Alt+Del at the same time, and click task manager, and select processes item, and then look the row of CPU . Beside "system idle process" , which number is the largest in there, this program is the guy that make your system slower. End it firstly and uninstall in the add and remove program
