I'm running Ubuntu live, and it keeps on asking to download plugins, or programs. Is it safe to do this, and will it screw up my windows account?

I would have to say yes, it's safe. When using Ubuntu as a Live CD, your HDD is not being used, your RAM is. Testing Ubuntu to see if you like?

every thing is installed to what is called a "ramdisk", which is a virtual harddrive inside your memory. When you turn off your computer every thing you "installed" and were running goes away.

Yep. So far it seems really similar to windows. Easier to use though. I love how you can click apps, places, and system and everything is laid out for you.
Okay, thanks for the quick answers. I'll go ahead and install them.
