Default question on laptop and programs

Hey Guys
I am looking to buy a laptop for my gf for christmas and I want to know would - Intel Celeron M 520 1.60GHz,1GB DDR2, 80GB HDD would handle adobe premiere pro , photoshop and illustrator and maybe quark xpress?

or even with this
Intel Pentium M 1.4 GHz
512 mb memory
30gb hard drive
or should I upgrade it to
1024mb
60gb hard drive

I'm pretty sure it could handle photoshop. These old as PC's at school handle it fine. It just takes a little to load up. Don't know about any of those other programs though.

You talking CS3? Then no.

You want a C2D processor and at least 1 gig of RAM and if you run vista better max your RAM.

Or you could just go get a Mac, but they do cost more initially but save you money in the end.
