Question XP system problem???Show"explorer.exe error"

Recently, my XP system has some problems. when i open "my computer" or "explore" . it always show me messages like this:

The instruction at "0x76eb1d8f" referenced memory at "0xffffffff" the memory could not be "read"
click on OK to terminate the program
click CANCEL to debug the program

no matter what button i click, the window will be close in force. when i open again , unfortunely, again and again. So,please help and give me some advice to solve this problem. Appreciate!!!!!!

you can try logging in safe mode and do a checkdisk first

Smile "chkdsk /f" command is helpful but not solution

Hi, friend

thank a lots,your suggestion is helpful for me.Before run chkdsk /f command, everytime when i open "my computer " or "explorer" or "my document" or some folder, it always pop-up windows to terminate my task, after running chkdsk /f , it is better than before, but, occasionly, it pop-up the window.

the windows is:
1 microsoft visual c++ runtime library
program: c:\windows\explorer.exe
********

2 error signature
appname:explorer.exe appver:6.0.2900.3156 modname:shell32.dll
modver:6.0.2900.3241 offset:001e500e
********
So, could you give me another suggestion to solve this problem
