Default Nero-data verification problem

I just backed up my photos with nero from my hard drive. The thing is it said error with the data verification from data number something to something. When I checked the DVD in my computer the photos seemed to be there? Did I lose anything? What was wrong?

which nero version ? nero is a good burner but i personally like to disable the verification (oh..the wait times) and no ,you didn't lose anything.
yesterday i was burning a vcd (nero 8) it passed the encoding but failed on the writing to disc, and when i open my cd there was nothing yet the cd is full
