1210 hp assistance

I hope i'm doing this right as this is my first post
My HP 1210 psc is saying cannot install hardware
There was a problem installing this hardware
The printer driver is unknown
I have uninstalled in and reinstalled it, i bought this printer 2 yrs running OS XP pro
BUT it can still scan files from the printer to computer, it also prints from the scanner with no trouble.
It will not print from computer to scanner; it will just have all files pending
Yes I have disk that came with the printer and this psc worked on this computer two months ago
Only new thing is I now have office 2003
