Default just after comments on laptop to replace desktop

Hello all
I'm looking at getting a laptop to replace my desktop. I find having a desktop and laptop isn't worth it as i am starting to use the laptop more and not really using the desktop, only for games. I am just looking for now as the desktop is only 12months old so I'll wait till it dies then get a laptop to replace. I like the Sony Vaio VGN-FZ250E/B. Some specs http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/...er=VGNFZ250E/B
Would that be any could as a laptop/desktop.
My range when I do buy will be around 1,300 Australian.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks for advice
