hey guys, i have what im assuming is a large virus on my compaq pensario sr1214nx. i have to original restore disc but i can not get it to run. my desktop does not even appear. i have to go through the task manager to run anything. it does not even realize that the disc is in there. and restoring it to an earlier point in time doesnt do jack. i know its my fault that i didnt have an antivirus on it but i really need to restore it. can anyone help me?

Do you have any important files you want to keep?

If I'm understanding you correctly all you need to do is insert the restore disc and boot using that. It should do it automatically but if it dosen't tell it to using the bios.

If that dosen't work your SOL build another computer compaq's are POS, I know I had one.
