Default Trying to sell on Craigslist, but not having much luck...

http://medford.craigslist.org/sys/495544429.html Here's my post. I keep lowering the price and making the post prettier, but no one responses, even with an offer lower than $1000. Does it look like I'm doing something wrong? Or am I just getting no bites for no reason?

Looks a bit highly Priced to me TBH, with a CRT, AMD & 8600GTS, I know this isn't what you want to hear but I'd say to even hope of getting it sold fast youd need to lower it to at least $900, Id pay probably around £400 for it, which is $800, but some people might give you a bit more

I would say your biggest problem is you are trying to sell a used computer! I dont care what you have in it like a quad core cpu or the best vid card there is it's still a used computer for alot of money. People look at that and think to them selfs (I can go to best buy and get a new one for $799) and it comes with warranty! And anyone looking for a highend computer for gaming with that kind of money to spend on a rig will have the knowledge to build their own. I myself would never ever buy a used PC unless it was something dirt cheap for mom to get email or something...as far as a computer for myself I build my own just for piece of mind of knowing whats in it and I can customize it for my needs.

I dont mean to spit venom on your future endeavors but I dont think you will sell it unless you find some spoiled rich 12 year old that tell mom he has to have that computer because thats exactly what he needs to do his home work.

Ya, its overpriced. +1 to who your audience is going to be as mentioned above.
I just priced it out brand new on Newegg for $878.92 with everything there including windows xp. When you count the rebates ($60) your talking 828.92. Way less then what your trying to get.

You can't count the crt because every craigslist has free ones just being given out. Or buy one for like 15$ off craigslist if there are no free ones.

Its high for the audience who will be looking for a gaming pc. Less its someone who doesn't know much about gaming rigs, I doubt its going to go that high.

But hopefully you will get lucky and make some dough. That would be nice.Your layout is more attractive than most of the people selling stuff, so I don't think that is the problem.

How long have you had it listed. Sure it's overpriced, but people are ignorant, so I think that you may be able to get your price. The description is nice and eye catching, but the title is a little bland, and I think that may keep people from looking at it in the first place. Maybe something like "Ultimate Custom Built Gaming Rig" might due the trick. Sure it's corny, but it'll get people to click.

Do many people use medford craigslist? You could list it up here in portland. I believe portland is one of the largest craigslist communities in the world.

And I agree with Kazoon. Too highly priced to appeal to ignorant computer users.

no, more like $600.

That is a bit pricey, 1k and you could build yourself a better computer. Consumers arent looking for quality in computer components, just speed. I would say you could get $750-$800 with that comp, and that's pushing it as it only has a crt monitor.

I was realizing that most people on CF wouldn't pay more than $600 for it, because they know how to make their own new one on Newegg.com for that price. I was going for the people who know almost nothing about computers, and are willing to spend $1000 on a pretty good computer. If I were to compare it to a Dell or HP with the same components (except for the motherboard, PSU, RAM type) it would probably come out more than what I'm asking.
I'll try changing the name, and lowering the price. I am planning on buying a new computer in January with the release of the 45nms, so I can't really go under $900, for my computer will cost about $1,500 (prices now). I know there will probably be some price drops from now to January, but I might also change some of the components.
Thanks for all the replies.
P.S. I think I'm the only one on craigslist who actually knows HTML and uses it to make my posts prettier =D.

The problem with selling it in Portland, is that it would be kind of a hassle setting it up, and I wanted the transaction to be in person, so I am able to make sure the cash is all there, and that there is no funny business. If it gets too close to January and I still have no bites, I may try the Portland one, as it is probably easier to ship to Portland than through EBAY.

How much do you guys think I could get on CoFo?

Lol keep forgetting to address people. It's been up for about a month now. I started it at $1,200, and I got a few people trying to trade, one offering $918, and one offering $100 a month... I tried contacting the guy who offered $918 for it, seeing as how I could still profit and be able to buy the computer in January, but he had already bought one from a local computer store.
It's kinda strange, now that I keep lowering it, I get less and less bites.
