Unhappy Please help' DVD software wont work

I have a Dell Dimension 8300.

I have a problem playing DVD’s on my PC. I was using SpyBot and I think I let it delete an important file.
When I put a dvd in my dvd drive my screen goes blank’ I then press Ctrl Alt Del and the screen comes back. On the bottom bar I then see a Dell icon. I right click on it and close it. I went into add and remove and tried to delete Dell Media Experience. I get the message – An installation Support file could not be found, and won’t let me delete it. When I click on the icon in all Programs the screen goes blank just like when I try to play a DVD. When I click on Cyberlink Suite I get the message Power Starter.Exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Would any know what I can do to sort this out?

Many thanks

hmmm uninstall your cyberlink suite in full removing all preferences, (repair windows-optional)
or if you knew what file it was exactly it would be possible to just replace it where it originally was

cyberlink suite wont let me remove it, says there is a missing file, no name given for file. I get this error C:\Progra~1\COMMON~1\instal~1\engine\6\intel3~1\Ct or.dll
The specified module could not be found.

hmmm i may now be going overboard but delete all preferences of Cyberlink, manually even the registry.
make sure your pc is clean from cyberlink then repair windows and re-install.

or

you can use your cyberlink cd and choose to modify installation or repair.
there's gotta be that option. check it, load your cd and just go about like you're gonna install it, it will give you other options. this can help
