Default Front Pannel audio problem

hey,

i have a antec nine hundred case which has a cable with two connectors on it, one is 5x2 pin with 1 missing to the right of the middle and says HD audio and the other is ac97 also with the pin to the right of the middle missing.

on my motherboard (abit IP35) i have 9 pins arranged so both connectors fit (called FP-audio1), i connected the HD one.
if i use onboard sound with the onboard drivers, my front pannel audio will work, so no problem. (also the motherboard back pannel audio works fine)

But i dont want to use on board sound, i want to use my sound blaster audiey zs, so if i install the drivers for the card my 5.1 headphones at the back of my computer work nice if i uninstall the motherboard sound driver, if i dont uninstall the motherboard sound driver, my headphones at the back pannel wont work but the front pannel will.

i dont use both headphones and the front pannel at the same time, i use my headphones normally but if i watch a film i plug my speakers in to the frontpannel audio. (this is what i use to do with my old computer)
and the sound plays throught them.

i have noteced on my sound card i have 5x2 connector which niether of the HD and ac97 will fit because it has the top right pin missing not the one to the right of the middle.

i installed the soundcard 1st then the onboard sound after, so do you think i need to reagrange pins on the ac97 or hd cable or could i try installing the on board sound 1st then the sounblaster drivers! would this work

thanks if you have any ideas
