How do you install a driver?

Okay, so I have downloaded a driver to my desktop and I have this zip file on my desktop, now what? Thank you. Frank

You unzip/extract it, then run the .exe file.

Keeep in mind I'm a noob. I assume your instruction of unzip/extract means I double click on the unzip folder icon. I did that and the next window that came up had five icons in it but none of them were exe files.

what are the drivers for, and what are their extensions? (.exe, .dll, etc.)
