Full Story Here Linux Everex PC at Wal-Mart.com Interview with gOS Founder: “Linux For Human Beings (Who Shop At WAL*MART)” I came upon this as I was browsing thru Linux distro screenshots and saw an enlightenment distro which happened to be gOS. I'm actually downloading a copy of the distro right now. I'm personally a fan of the enlightenment desktop manager vs your typical gnome/kde setup. I'm even more surprised that they went with enlightenment as it's still in it's infancy of version 0.17.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. Vista is sh1t right now. Nothing works. Won't even let me run my MS-DOS charting program in full screen (DRM), much less in a window. No friggin' way I'm going to learn another programming language just to reduplicate that program's functionality.

Edit: Asus also brings linux to the mainstream with Xandros and the eee PC! http://eeepc.asus.com/global/ It is a laptop with flash drive memory, up to 8 gb depending on what model you get. Meant for internet surfing and the like tasks only. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ntel+processor

I think that Microsoft will eventually go down the hole mainly because of DRM and other Draconian measures that they incorporate into their OS.

To go slightly off topic, here's a news report about EMI possibly dropping the RIAA. Now, back to topic! This is a pretty big step forward; what do you guys think will happen next with linux?

Well, if people buy that comp, slowly more and more people will start using linux.
It looks like a pretty sweet distro. As linux becomes more user friendly which it appears to be doing, i think more and more people will start using it. Also do largely to the pathetic state microsoft is (But dont talk about that, dont wanna hijack or start a way)
