Does anyone have un used windows xp cd's lying around? ill mail them back if you send me them?

Why would you mail them back? Pirating is not supported on these forums.

I think you have to reinstall xp, seems your os got so many problems.

if you can get a xp cd or recovery cd, there should be no problem. but the reinstallation my destory your grub loader and you may have to reinstall ubuntu if you still want to keep it in your comp.

if you cannot get a xp cd easily, ubuntu is quite a good choice. you can perform most tasks easily on it. however, it depends on your hardware competibility, my laptop got problem with sound, the earphone and speakers run at the same time...funny right

Dont get me rong i love ubuntu, but i need windows, I cant play games, use most programs, I just want a working windows, I mean if i had a supported Graphics card i would LOVE ubuntu more but i dont .

Any suggestions?

how did you install your os? the xp one?

if your os came with your pc, you should have a cd called recovery disk or rescue cd. just like my pc and laptop, the cd can help you to rebuild your os in case of system crash, unfortunely i lost my set of recovery disk, so i need to be VERY careful about my xp

for gaming, you definitely need win, linux is never designed for gaming, you can find only a few games on this platform.
