Hey all,
I've been having this problem with my DVD player for awhile now. It's an older model (Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-104 if I recall correctly). It used to be installed on my other computer (came factory installed), but started to reboot my computer each time I put a disk in. I recently moved it upstairs to my newer computer, and have yet to have this reboot problem. It won't write information though. My computer will occasionally read it as a CD drive instead of a DVD drive. Burning programs most often don't even recognize it as a usable drive. It's starting to get frustrating. Thank you for any help, -Luigio97 |

Other than you using a bad IDE cable it sounds like the drive is going. You can get new burners for like 30 bucks on newegg now.
