Default Christmas Upgrades on the way!

I wanted to add some new components to my not-so-good computer so I'll be able to play more in depth games and just have an all around better experience with it. Mostly for speed and gaming.

System Properties Below:

AMD Duron Processor 699 MHz
512 MB of RAM

But yeah, I dont really know how to check the rest of it.
What should I be looking into for making my computer better for gaming?

Nothing. No offense, but that computer will probably have a hard time playing Halo... Sorry... You'll need a whole new rig. $250 can get you a pretty good rig...

In my opinion you should just get a new computer instead of parts cause if thats stock the 2 things you told then I'm guessing your HD is like 140gb and you probably have stock video card. Go look at HP's because there not 2 expensive and there good computers. You can get 2gb ram, Intel core 2 duo, decent HD, and decent video card for less then 1k.(also check amazon. there usually cheap there)

Sure! That's a fine idea (literally). Keep the case, and optical drives Budget?

Not too bad. Any accessories needed? (I can tell you a monitor or O/S will NOT fit in there). 'Ne ways, I'll get started.
