Default 2nd HDD not working

Ive just installed a second hard disk drive although its not showing up in "my computer" but is showing in device manager.
Its set to slave on the cable and is on the Slave socket on the cable.
My Main HDD is set to master and is on the master End of the cable.
How can i get this HDD to show up and work :S
Cheers

Control Panel-Administrative Tools-Computer Management-Click on Disk Management on lower left- In the lower right pane right click on the drive and partition and format.
