Exclamation Vista Ram Question

I know a lot of people have always been asking if upgrading from 1gb to 2gb of ram is a good thing. I think this question is different, as it is about Vista. I have a Compaq v6210us laptop that has 2 slots of 512mb ram. I can upgrade to 2gb with 2 1gb chips. They are about 40 dollars each, and my laptop can not handle a lot of things open at once. For example, just with firefox, photoshop, and wmp open, it can freeze my computer

So, with 2gb of ram under 100 dollars, will it upgrade my multitasking performance?

edit: Also, I am thinking of Kingston. It is not the cheapest, but it is usually thought of as a good kind of ram, plus the name sounds cool . Is kingston ok?
