Default Free Version of Flash?

I need to make some animated icons.. So, since Microsoft Office has its free alternatives like OpenOffice and Photoshop has its alternative GIMP. It would make me think that there is a free alternative to Flash... Does anyone know of one?

Thanks

Nope, in fact, since Adobe took over Macromedia their prices seem to have risen to normal Adobe levels.
