That didn't make any sense. Running Vista is bad, but score is very good, but Vista makes score bad?

I wouldn't say Vista causes benchmark scores to be bad. I got the score in my sig running Vista Business.

Maybe that explains my situation....I'm running Vista and have:
  • AMD Athlon X2 64 5000+
  • 2Gb DDR2 @ 667Mhz
  • 8800GT

and I got around 9,000 and people were telling me that it was a low score for my system (although mine is also a Dell...so who knows).

However when I had my 8600GTS I ran 3dmark06 on both Vista and XP Partitions, and it only scored slightly better in XP (300 points better)

Actually, it's not that far to that... word, but it's a pretty good system. A Q6600 with an 8800GT could be considered that

you don't play 3dmark06 with your video card, you play video games with you video card. It doesn't matter what os you have if you don't get better fps.
