Hey guys.
I have just plugged a QX9650 into a GA-P35-DS3R. FSB is running at right speed, as is RAM. But the multiplier is stuck on 6x for the CPU, and I can't get it up to 9x no matter what I do. I turned off all of those nifty options that throttle the voltages/speeds etc etc. Then I put multiplier on 9x, and saved and rebooted, and it just changes itself back down to 6x. What do I have to do to get it up to 9x? And then what do I have to do to get it higher than that? I want to OC in a week or so, but the BIOS says the max multiplier is 9x, even though it won't even let me get it up to that. If it is necessary, I have all of the voltage controls set to auto. Thanks.

Are you pressing F10 then Y key? As it is the Save and Exit bios button.

Go to CMOS/BIOS, and just look under the tabs for "StepSpeed" and turn Disable it

Thanks for the input guys. I flashed the BIOS. It was F5 when the support for this processor was introduced at F6... and they are now up to F9.
Working fine now.

The BIOS flash enabled the processor, not the disabled stepspeed.
