Xeon & Opteron CPUs in general are used for servers, and have a smaller cache than most consumer market chips.
Does anyone know if Opteron or Xeon chips are better or worse for gaming than Athlon/Core2 CPUs? I know the answer is "Athlon/Core2" of course, but that beggs the question, why do they sell Xeon/Opteron chips to begin with if they are overpriced and underpowered? Then the next question is, if they're no good for gaming. Which CPU would be best for running a game server? |
