Default New building computer 101 contest - it might be you.

Well as the old building 101 thread has gotten slightly outdated (by slightly I mean a few years) and with all the new technology out in place of the parts I was able to use when making the guide I feel it is time for a new one to take its place. Now as I don't have the money to buy new parts and put one together (or the access to new parts) I am trying something a little different. Instead of trying to make one from scratch using old outdated parts again I am conscripting the entire forum to make a new one to be put up as an addendum (in the original sticky) with all the new bells and whistles that technology has to offer.

It will work like this. I would ideally like to have an Intel based setup and maybe an AMD based setup (as little as the differences may be) to showcase how to put together a computer in both lights. If you would like to take part in this simply create your guide in the desktop section and make a link to it in this sticky, I would like to have the guide decided for the new year so I am giving ~2 weeks of time for you guys to create, post, and have your guides judged. If you can please have images hosted somewhere that won't go down from major bandwidth hits and also if you can please hotlink images in a clickable link instead of directly posting them in the guide.

When making the guides please remember that plagiarism will not be tolerated and any guide found to have direct line for line quotes from any other guide or site will be disqualified from the judging and removed from the site. It's not that hard to come up wth things in your own words and it's a whole lot more satisfying to know that a piece of your work will be posted on the main page of the site instead of someone else's work which you simply took as your own.

All guides are accepted and will be judged fairly with a base of how easy it is to understand the guide, quality of pictures taken during the build (not too many, not too little), and length (not so short as for it to be a crash course, but not too long as for it to be read like a novel). On December 29th at 11:59 PM (EST) this thread will be locked and no further entries will be taken for the replacement (as I would like to have them all judged before new years and put up by then). Please try to keep general chit chat to a minimum in this thread if you can, compliments and the like are ok but full blown conversations are not. I wish everyone the best of luck and am seriously looking forward to what types of guides everyone can put together.

As I did not get as many submissions as I had hoped I will have to reconsider this decision. Omega's guide is indeed very good and I will definitely look at it and will more than likely add it in as an addition to the current guide. When that will be though I do not know, I am currently very busy with school and have little to no time for anything but. As long as the link to his guide is in this thread I will make sure to check it (eventually).
