This confuses me....I have an EVGA 680i motherboard, so I use onboard sound. I have something plugged into the mic input and the line in, but when I go to Control Panel/Sound/Recording/Properties/Levels (I have Vista) it shows me that the line in and mic are muted...but then when I click unmute, the "apply" button doesn't become highlighted, thus not allowing me to save my changes. I have the newest drivers from EVGA's site. If anyone knows what is going on or has any suggestions, please let me know, I'd really appreciate it.

Try reinstalling the sound program found on the cd that came with the board. That should correct the software glitch being seen there. Apparently something went sideways on the original installation. Also reviews any new programs added since the problem was first seen.
